Grilled Cheese Recipe Contest

Congratulations to Jeff Bergman. He is our Grilled Cheese Sandwich Winner! Jeff will be demonstrating the winning recipe at the Chef Demo stage on Sunday, May 18th at 12 noon.

The Seattle Cheese Festival is conducting a recipe search for the best grilled cheese sandwich in the city. The winner of the contest will appear during the Seattle Cheese Festival, which takes place May 16-18, 2008, to give a live demo on the chef’s stage. The winning sandwich will be featured at the DeLaurenti café during the festival. The top 10 finalists will have their recipes featured online at the Seattle Cheese Festival site.

Deadline:

The deadline for entry is March 21, 2008. To enter your recipe, please email it to info@seattlecheesefestival.com. Finalists and the winner will be notified by April 4.

Recipe guidelines:

• The recipe should serve 2 or 4.
• The recipe can contain up to 6 ingredients.
• Include a brief description (75 words or fewer) of the inspiration for the sandwich.

Judging:

The recipes will be judged based on creative use of cheese, flavor profile and relative ease of method.

Rules:

• All the cheese and condiments must be available at DeLaurenti, if not purchased from DeLaurenti.
• The bread must be made by Macrina Bakery.
• The main component of the sandwich must be cheese, but additional condiments, meats or vegetables are permitted.
• Professional chefs are restricted from entering the contest.
